Aadhar Card Status – Check UIDAI E-Aadhar Update Status Online

There are many methods to check Aadhar card status. In 2019, UIDAI has introduced many new guidelines to know status of e Aadhar card and updates.

Here are all the methods you can use to check your Aadhar status.

Check Aadhar card status (Eaadhaar Uidai)

Before you move ahead for Aadhar card status enquiry, check if you have following information with you.

  • URN Number or SRN Number
  • Aadhar card acknowledgement slip
  • Aadhar card Virtual ID number
  • Aadhar Enrollment ID (EID)
  • Mobile number linked to Aadhar
  • Time Based One Time Password
  • Unique Identification Number (UID)

Can we check Aadhar card status online?

Yes, we can check our Aadhar status online through UIDAI website – www.uidai.gov.in or through USSD or SMS method.

There are various UIDAI portals known as SSUP or self service update portal, Resident portal etc. We have to login to Aadhar card portal through UID/VID and OTP.

After we log in, we have to select which type of status enquiry we want to do. For example, to check Aadhar card update status, we have to visit the Aadhar update portal known as SSUP.

To check Aadhar card enrollment status, we need to go to resident portal of Aadhar card.

How can I check my Aadhar card status in Eaadhaar Uidai?

Eaadhar or E-Aadhar status check be checked through the UIDAI eaadhar portal. For that, you need to provide following information – Enrollment ID, Date and time of enrollment and security code.

Here is how you can check Aadhar card status using enrollment ID –

  1. Go to Aadhar card website.
  2. Visit e-Aadhar page – https://resident.uidai.gov.in/check-aadhaar-status .
  3. You will see aadhar status form as shown in image below –
  4. Enter Enrolment ID and Date/Time in dd/mm/yy hh:mm:ss format.
  5. Enter security code as shwon in the image there.
  6. Click on the ‘Check status’ button there.

This is how you can check Aadhar enrolment status using Eaadhar gov website. However, since it requires you to have an Enrolment ID number, you must first visit any local Aadhar card center and register for Aadhar. After that, you can get your Aadhar enrolment ID number.

Aadhar card online registration

Before you can check Aadhar card status, you need to register Aadhar first. After that, you can download Aadhar card and search using name, address, father’s name. EID etc.

You can also search using fingerprint, PIN code and print Aadhar card in pdf format. To register, you need to know the process and requirements first.

Aadhar card online apply

There are two methods to apply for Aadhar card. The first method is the offline application form filling method. For this, an applicant needs to visit an Aadhar card center and ask for Aadhar application form.

You then need to provide information like Name, Father’s name, Mother’s name, Date of birth, place of residence, mobile number, address, email address etc.

Once done, you will have to provide biometrics like finger print and retina scan for Aadhar application. Later, you can use the fingerprint to search Aadhar or check Aadhar card application status offline.

Search Aadhar Card

Once you have filled the aadhar enrolment form or Aadhar application form, you will get a EID number. Until your Unique Identification number is generated, you will have to use your EID number as reference for Aadhar card, for checking aadhar card status.

Using that EID number, you can search Aadhar card easily. Here are some of the methods I can use to search my Aadhar card number online.

Online Aadhar card search by name

Is it possible for Aadhar card holders to search Aadhar by name? Well, actually, according to UIDAI, you need to have at least the registered mobile number and one of the EID, VID or UID numbers to search Aadhar card status online.

Therefore, to search Aadhar number by name or father’s name, you will have to follow these processes –

  • Go to any local Aadhar card center and ask for searching Aadhar.
  • They will ask you to provide your personal details. Provide them with your name, father’s name and any other details that you have.
  • Once provided, the Aadhar card kendra executive will ask you to provide a mobile number.
  • There are multiple options – If you have your original Aadhar linked mobile number, you can use that number to search aadhar card.
  • If not, you will have to provide a new number, obtain OTP and verify to search Aadhar by name.
  • Even though you could search Aadhar card status using name or father’s name, we recommend you to either use the Enrolment number or Aadhar card number to search Aadhar card.

Aadhar Card Update

If you need to make a change or correction in Aadhar card, you can update Aadhar details online. For that, you can use the SSUP portal or self service update portal.

The Self service update portal for Aadhar provides you with online method to update Aadhar card details.

Aadhar address update at SSUP

One of the most important thing people always need is to update Aadhar card address. Because of their relocation or change in address, they have to make correction in address. For that, government has launched Aadhar card update portal. The same can be used to check Aadhar card update status.

SSUP Login using UID or VID

To start Aadhar card update process, you have to visit the SSUP Login page first. Then you need to provide following information –

Once you login, you will have to provide your new address of Aadhar and submit any PoA document like Ration Card, Voter’s ID card etc.

Aadhar Update status

After submitting an Aadhar update request through SSUP, you get a serial number called URN. To track the status of your Aadhar update request, go to SSUP update status enquiry page and use that reference number.

URN Number

URN number is also called Update Request Number. Every update request submitted through the self service update portal provides user with a unique reference number called URN.

Get URN Number

To get URN Number of your update, you need to go to last step of SSUP update process. Then after uploading documents and selecting BPO service provider, you can get URN number. The URN number shall be displayed on the last page of update request process.

You can save URN number by pressing CTRL+S on laptop or desktop, and by taking screenshot in mobile phones.

URN status enquiry

To check URN status or Aadhar update status online, follow these steps –

  • Go to UIDAI SSUP page (https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/check-status).
  • Click on Check Status option.
  • Enter your Aadhar number.
  • Enter URN number
  • Ignore SRN number box.
  • Enter text verification code.
  • Submit the form.
  • Your URN status shall be displayed on the screen.

Using this method, you can only check Aadhar address update status. Earlier, government used to provide option to update mobile number in Aadhar online through SSUP, but now you can only update address in Aadhar card online.

e Aadhar Card

e Aadhar is the digital copy of Aadhar card which can be downloaded by UIDAI eAadhar card portal. The eAadhar is downloaded in PDF format and has a password to unlock Aadhar card. You can print aadhar card and use it as an authorized copy of Aadhaar.

e Aadhar can be used for all types of government verification. e Aadhar is a valid PoA and PoI document.

  • Name of citizen
  • Address of citizen
  • Date of Birth
  • Logo of UIDAI
  • Unique Identification Authority of India
  • Mera Aadhar Meri Pehchaan
  • Photo of Aadhar card holder
  • Postal Address and PIN code.

eAadhar card download

There are multiple methods to download e Aadhar card online. You can download e Aadhar by name or date of birth or by other details like UID or Aadhar number, Enrolment number, etc.

Once you download eAadhar, you need to enter the Aadhar card password to unlock it in PDF format.

Download Aadhar card by UID number or EID number

To download eAadhar card, follow these guidelines. These steps shall help you in download eAadhar online through eaadhar.uidai.gov.in portal.

  • Go to eAadhar official website.
  • Locate the eAadhar card application form.
  • Select Enrolment ID or Aadhar or VID in first option.
  • Enter the serial number in next boxes.
  • Write your full name. The name must include your first name, middle name and last name in same box.
  • Enter your PIN code as mentioned in postal address printed in Aadhar.
  • Enter the security code as displayed there.
  • You can use OTP or TOTP for mobile number verification.
  • If you want to take part in Aadhar card survey, fill answers to questions asked there.
  • If not, click on the Download Aadhar button.

eAadhar card download through mAadhar App

You can also download your eAadhar through your mAadhar app.

  • Download mAadhar app from Play store.
  • Enter your Aadhar card number.
  • Verify your mobile number.
  • Enter OTP received on registered number.
  • Create a password for opening eAadhar in mAadhar app.
  • Exit and restart the app.
  • Enter your password.
  • Your eAadhar shall be displayed there. You can use the eAadhar in mAadhar app for identity card purposes.

Check Aadhar card postal status

If your aadhar card has been generated and dispatched by courier, you may want to track Aadhar card dispatch status from the courier company. Normally, Aadhar card are dispatched by India post office courier and so the tracking number or AWB number can be checked in SMS received. However, here is how you can track Aadhar dispatch status or postal status of Aadhar card.

Aadhar dispatch status tracking

To track Aadhar card delivery status, you need a AWB number or Consignment number also known as tracking ID. Every post by India post website is tracked using the tracking ID.

How to get Aadhar card delivery tracking number?

To get Aadhar card tracking details, go to UIDAI official website.

  1. Go to UIDAI website.
  2. Click on Check Aadhar status link.
  3. Enter your EID or Enrolment number.
  4. Enter the verification code.
  5. Verify using OTP on registered mobile number.
  6. If your Aadhar card has been dispatched, you will find an option to get tracking ID.
  7. Click on tracking details and copy of Aadhar card courier tracking ID.

Once you have the dispatch status tracking number, you can check the Aadhar postal status through the India post website.
